We, the participants of the RESPONSIBALL Forum on Sport and Refugees, meeting in Lausanne, Switzerland, on 08 November 2018, and the participants of the ASPIRE Final Conference Programme, meeting in Frankfurt, Germany, on 14 June 2019, and like-minded organisations and individuals, recognise the contribution and enormous potential of sport for the inclusion and integration of refugees.
To realise this potential, we recommend:
The SHV supports the "sport4refugees" project. Handball clubs are thus given the opportunity to easily integrate people who have fled to Switzerland into the handball community.
The Rotary Club of Bern uses its network to find a nearby club for people who have fled to Switzerland that matches their interests.
Swiss Squash provides refugees and asylum seekers - regardless of their origin - with contacts for playing and training opportunities. Often these contacts help the refugees and asylum seekers for other life situations.
The Heinz Schöffler Foundation supports people who are in need through no fault of their own. It supports the #sport4refugees project, which makes clubs in Switzerland accessible to refugees.
